Who we are.

We’re a boutique joinery and studio based in the Blue Mountains, just outside of Sydney. We design, build and install unique interior projects and furnishings, using natural materials and a sustainable approach. Every project we take on is treated like a piece of heirloom furniture and completed using a combination of traditional and modern materials, tools and techniques.

Organisation is key. We opted for a large set of heavy-duty drawers en-lieu of a vertical pantry in this recently completed Blue Mountains kitchen. This allowed placing the pantry directly next to the freestanding oven and stove. Photo by Ona Janzen.

The Kitchen.

We love cooking. And we love kitchens. We believe the kitchen is the heart of a home. It calls for a duet of utility and emotion, unlike any other room in your house. It’s a place of work and comfort, practicality and togetherness.

These are some of the reasons we work towards creating kitchens to live in. We focus heavily on minimising the use of toxic materials, from the wood and panels we source, to the finishes we apply. We think about our environmental impact, as well as the integrity and longevity of the projects we deliver.

We’re in it for the passion, and because we genuinely believe that it is possible to build better kitchens.

 Sustainability.

Being a sustainable business means creating long lasting products that are crafted from carefully chosen materials and installed in a way that allows for repairs and alterations in the future. We believe that it is our responsibility as a business and a consumer to care for our environment and reduce our impact on it as much as we can.

We have therefore chosen not to install certain materials such as MDF and chipboard, as these not only pose a risk to our, our client’s and our environment’s health, but also drastically reduce the quality and thus longevity of the furnishings and products they’re built into.

Our commitment to being a healthy and environmentally sustainable business also means that we reuse and recycle as much of our waste as possible. We buy local and chain of custody certified products and materials where possible, minimise our production waste through efficient processes as well as tolerances in the selection of materials and design our products with this in mind.

If you have any suggestion about how we could reduce our impact on the environment further, please reach out. We’re all ears.
